Some more velcro insert goodies for you tac bag folks out there; Maxpedition has expanded the hook back pouch line with the 5" x 7" and 3" x 5" Zipper Pockets. The layout is overall simple using a double zipper opening. The interior has a sleeve pocket on one side and elastic divided into 2 channels on the other.
The 5" x 7" size uses 2" elastic and the 3" x 5" sports 1.5" elastic, being relatively wide for each size class. Although the main compartment will likely get the most use, these additions are certainly bonus options for smaller item organization. Not everything you want will fit perfectly as they are not item specific pouches, however generally a good home for small electronics and tools. They make for simple and effective additions to larger bags to add a pocket with zipper closure security.
As a tag along I wanted to show the T-ring as well; A simple way to add a D-ring to anything with PALS webbing. For installation I found one can rotate the D-ring sideways or fold the webbing tab, which should be noted has loop velcro for some bonus morale size patch options. As a small down side I wish the D-ring slack was sewn down since as is it can get rotated away from its desired proper position. Luckily this issue will not affect holding capability, but the unit can be pulled up-out with a side rotated D-ring.
